Portrait Questions
Q,
When are you open?
A, Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday morning
9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Q,
How long will a sitting last?
A, In the region of 30 minutes, often 45 minutes.
Q,
How many pictures will you take?
A, All studio sittings are unique. Generally we do not specify
how many photographs are taken, but we will endeavour to
present you with at least 24 good images. To obtain this
we take in excess of 60.
Q,
In what form will I get my pictures presented to me?
A, These will be small images printed on A4 sheets. They
will be referenced and are yours to keep.
Q,
When will the images be ready for collection?
A, About 4/5 days after the studio sitting. We do have complete
control over every
stage of the process, we print everything in–house,
so if your need is immediate, that is not a problem.
Q,
How long will you keep the images on file for?
A, We never delete any images, ever.
Q,
Does that mean I can order any photograph, any size, at
any time?
A, Yes, we do not set any time limit on your orders.
Q,
What type of clothing looks best?
A, We recommend that your clothing as a family should coordinate,
everyone in white tops with jeans or all wearing pastel
shades, shades of blue. Avoid one family member wearing
a colour completely different to everyone else, for example
3 members in white with 1 in black. Choose plain tops with
no bold patterns or strong logos. Don’t worry about
footware, we like bare feet. We find that to get a nice
relaxed image, smart casual clothing is best, clothes that
make you feel comfortable and relaxed.
Q,
What if we want to be very formal with our clothes?
A, You can, but please inform us before you attend for your
session so we can be prepared. Obviously, we will meet your
request.
Wedding
Questions
Q,
Who will be taking our wedding photographs?
A, We have two full time photographers, Derek Whitehouse
and Sarah Browne.
Both have many years’ experience. We each only take
one wedding per day.
Your wedding is too important to us.
Q,
Do you take formal photographs?
A, We prefer to take a mix of styles. A good majority will
be relaxed, informal, natural pictures, however, we do recommend
you have some formal groups. These will be discussed at
the pre–wedding consultation. We enlist the help of
the best man and ushers to help gather together guests for
the photographs. This is a more personal approach and will
keep the day relaxed.
Q,
When is payment due?
A, A £200 deposit will secure the date and the rest
is payable on collection of your preview book. Travel expenses
may be added if the wedding is not local.
Q,
How will I view my images?
A, You will receive a preview book of the images taken,
this will be ready approximately ten days after the wedding
and is yours to keep. You also have the option of viewing
these in our on-line wedding gallery, these will be password
protected.
Q,
How many photographs will I get?
A, There are several packages to choose from. Most couples
cannot decide how many images they want in the finished
album until they see their previews. We suggest you do not
make a decision on a package before the wedding day.
Q,
How long will my final album take to complete?
A, From making your selection to collecting you finished
book is around 3 weeks.
The album is hand made, the spine width of your chosen album
is adjusted to the number of images chosen.
Q,
What is the normal length of time the photographer will
be with us?
A, Every wedding is unique, some couples want us to be at
the house or hotel when the bride is having hair and make–up
done, some want us to catch up with the groom having a drink
with his ushers in the pub. Others simply want us to be
there at the venue to capture the arrival of guests, Groom
and Bride. We will then be with you until you sit down for
your wedding breakfast. Some couples have the speeches before
the meal is served, in which case we will capture the speeches.
Q,
Where will the pre-wedding consultation be held?
A, Nearly always it will be our Melton Mowbray studio. Derek
and Sarah have over 55 years’ experience between them,
they know most of the venues, if not they will visit before
the consultation.
Q,
Do we need a consultation before the wedding?
A, It is always a good idea to discuss your wedding with
your photographer. We have the chat a few weeks before the
wedding, when all the other arrangements are in place. Everyone
will then know exactly what is going on, where and when.
We can discuss the group photographs, the time required,
the time that has been given to you by your caterer and
any other special requirements.
